The Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools (KCKPS) district is taking significant steps to create digital opportunities for its students, creating the first and largest district-wide laptop distribution in the Kansas City metropolitan area. In a district where more than 75 percent of its students qualify for free or reduced lunches, this effort focuses on bringing technology to poor and minority students who might otherwise not be able to use a computer at home.
