Matthew Nugent
Contact: (816) 419-0703
Matthew Nugent comes to the Engineering & Technology Workforce Liaison role at PREP-KC by way of architecture. He is a graduate of Lincoln College Preparatory Academy, and moved to Boston to study for his master's degree in Architecture in 2000. After working at nationally known firms Goody Clancy Architects and Cambridge Seven Associates, he returned to Kansas City in 2008 to work on the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts at BNIM. Throughout his work as an architect he remained active in various mentoring and educational programs, working as a teaching assistant and student mentor at the Boston Architectural Center and participating in ACE Mentoring here in Kansas City. Long concerned about a lack of opportunities for minority and low-income students in the architecture and engineering fields, in early 2011, he left architecture to join PREP-KC.
