Mission 
The mission of PREP-KC is to develop, leverage, and deploy resources to improve Kansas City’s urban & regional educational outcomes by strengthening relationships between students, teachers, and parents and by improving teaching and learning.

Develop Resources 
PREP-KC raises, leverages and deploys resources to provide expert support to the work of its school district partners. PREP-KC is the first regional initiative of its kind in Kansas City, and has attracted an unprecedented circle of local and national investors. PREP-KC creates accountable partnerships and strategically deploys an average of $2.5 million annually into Kansas City's urban school districts.

Build Capacity 
Leaders in the Kansas City region recognize that the bi-state region’s two large public school districts in the heart of Kansas City must make significant improvements in order for their nearly 50,000 mostly low-income, minority students to have the skills they will need to succeed in college and careers. PREP-KC works with school district leadership to strategically deploy funds to create sustainable district-wide improvement.

Measure Results 
Working in close partnership with the superintendents, school board leaders, principals and teachers of partner districts, PREP-KC deploys resources to help the districts evaluate the effectiveness of reform strategies, and to share the stories of challenges and progress with Kansas City stakeholders.
